The Players demo – Flex, PostgreSQL, PHP/AMF working together

Ever want to be listed as a player in the NBA? Here’s your chance.

Digital Showcase LLC has developed this flagship demonstration on database entry and update taking advantage of the extended graphics that Flex/Flash offers, to produce a rich, compelling user interface.

Note: Make any entries you like, the database is refreshed to its base state often, so you may not be in the league long.  You can click on the ID, Team and Jersey columns to sort or toggle sort on that column. The Player Name, Position and Country columns have graphic “rendering” and do not sort, at least not right now.

This example dataset of the 446 NBA players for 2009 was sourced from WikiPedia. See them about any corrections.

Many thanks to Ivan Ilijasic of Zagreb, Croatia on making some translations to his native language regarding this demo / tutorial and making that available to his Adobe Flex group in Zagreb. We’re going round the world on this one, Baby!
